Plan Your Visit

Getting There:

  • Free parking is available in the zoo’s lots and parking garage.
  • Use RTD’s free youth bus rides during August.
  • Note: Children under 16 must be accompanied by someone 18 or older.

When You Arrive:

  • Enter through the Main Entrance. Look for Denver Public Library signs and staff.
  • Don’t worry if you forget your invitation—we’ll have your name on our list!

What to Wear:

  • It will be hot! Bring hats, sunscreen, and water.

Tips for Your Visit

Food:

  • You can bring your own food or purchase meals/snacks at the zoo. View options at Denver Zoo Dining.

Accessibility:

  • Restrooms with baby changing stations, nursing rooms, and family-friendly facilities are available.

Weather:

  • The event is rain or shine, so come prepared!

Best Time to Visit:

  • Mornings or early afternoons are less crowded.

Special Appearances

  • Meet Denver Public Library staff and the Bookmobile!
  • Explore the Denver Museum of Nature and Science Curiosity Cruiser.
  • Visit Denver Public Schools' Registration Bus.
  • Enjoy the zoo animals and meet the zookeepers!
